The rule I try to cycle by is very similar to the way he starts his article - There is no point in being 'in the right' and dead.0 -
Uses similar principles to IAM/defensive driving which I use a lot when road riding - all well worth reading but obvious to some.0

I ride very defensively when riding my roadbike to work. I take the lane when the conditions allow and I treat every car driver on the road the same i.e. like something that could kill me if I don't keep my eyes open.
Motorcyclists are an alltogether different matter though. They tend to get in the way by blocking my route in high traffic conditions and then they beep at me if I manage to get past them into a 2 foot wide gap they would have no chance of getting through.
