To all the people who feel it necessary to overtake me at the bottom of Greenwich Park road hill!! Please, please, please don't do it if 20 yards up the hill you decide to slow down!!! It only results in me having to overtake you again making us both look like right tw@ts!

I need a combined rant; firstly at the stupid bitch who pulled out of Clarence Lane in front of me while I was going down Priory Lane. No computer on this bike, but I reckon I was doing 22-25mph. I had to clamp down hard to avoid going into the back of her.
Now I'd like to rant at myself for what I did next; instead of skidding or risking going over the bars I let off the brakes and went up the left hand side to the point I knocked on the passenger window. That was the dumbest thing I've ever done on a bike and I could have come a right cropper.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX

I need to vent else my peaceful commute is going to get stressful
The girl wobbling in the cycle lane at 1mph on the her phone. Concentrate on the things around you, i.e. big red buses and other vehicles doing more than 1mph. I don't want to have to navigate around you just because you can't be bothered to stop and have your chitchat.
The guy who skidded to a halt behind me when I was at a red light. Slow down a bit eh? You almost took out my back wheel.
The other guy who I followed for several miles. You were the most annoying person I've seen since my commute so far. You jumped every single red-light. You caused car drivers to glare at you with discust.
I caught up with you every time. I passed you and planted my bike in the ASL at the next red. You zoomed past me too fast without stopping as usual, so I apologise for calling you a pr*ck as I went past, again.
That's better0 -

To the Taxi driver that squeezed past me at the zoo today rather than waiting for 5 seconds or so until the road gets wider. You sir are a twat!
If i'm being honest I find in Edinburgh most taxi drivers (and bus drivers) are fine they'll give you plenty space and don't try to squeeze past you! Just the odd few seems to be ignorant especially the private hire taxis and CityLink buses.
On the other hand as i came to work abit earlier this morning, the roads were nice and quiet."I have a plan, a plan so cunning you could stick a tail on it and call it a fox." (from the Blackadder TV series)0 -
Lady driver of black pug 206, I'm not sure which cereal box you got your license from, but a word of advice:
At roundabouts (even mini ones), we give way to the traffic entering from the RIGHT!
This does not mean that you look at me entering the RAB from your right, proceed onto said RAB, scream, then stop right in the middle, blocking the road. That's how accidents happen!
Accidents like me dragging you from your little rollerskate and beating you to death with your mobile phone which you shouldn't have been using in the first place.
Seems to have been a week for morons this week.0 -

Stupid knee, for reminding me, 15 years later, that that football accident was not just a memory.
Stupid commuter, for waking up that stupid knee.
Stupid me, for :
- Waiting 2 months to adjust the saddle so that this little pain in the front of my knee disappeard
- Taking a week after adjusting the said saddle to re-adjust it when the pain has moved and is a lot more intense when under stress
- Riding a bike that is obviously not my size
Stupid work, for preventing me to spend time on BR forums.
Stupid friends, for all getting married in May, thus preventing me from riding the only bike I have which doesn't hurt me.FCN 4(?) (Commuter - Genesis Croix de Fer)

What is it with drivers this week?
I've been commuting this route for nearly a year now and it's never happened before, now it's happened 2 days in a row.
Yesterday, coming through the village to a single lane, traffic lighted bridge. The lights are on green and I'm keeping up with traffic (15-18mph). As I come up to the bridge some tool in a blue BMW decides he must get past me at all costs. So he gets up alongside me but can't get past cos there's a car infront of him!
He realises this halfway up the bridge and backs off enough for me to take primary and stop him being a tool so I can turn right just after the bridge.
Then this morning, same situation. Lights on green, me keeping up with traffic. Knob in a silver Audi decides he must get past. But again, he can't cos there's a car in front (that's why it's called traffic).
But this time said Knob refuses to conceed defeat so he ends up alongside me over the very narrow crest of the bridge, about 3" from my handlebars.
I realise that he's obviously not going to give in so have to back off and take primary behind him so I can turn right after.
Then just to top things off I get in to work, go to get changed and realise I've forgotten my boxers, so it's a commando day for me today.

I've always wanted to grab the keys from the iginition and do likewise
My turn to rant and rave:
To the GT roadbike rider, Get your rear wheel trued, it was wobbling like a jelly when I was drafting you this morning past Primark before I stopped at the 2 sets of red lights which you failed to do and then nearly hit me as you cut behind me to cross onto the pavement to either save time or be safer. You didn't save time as you had to slow when on the pavement and I still caught and overtook you despite doing the proper thing and stopping at the lights and Bristol city centre at 7am is safe on a bike as there isn't that many hazards about apart from RJLing cyclists.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
To the complete c0ck in the black beamer on Brockley Rise - I can understand the frustration of being stuck in traffic and seeing cyclists pass your crappy pride and joy, but.....
Pulling in to the curb three times to stop me passing is not only stupid but dangerous. Laughing to yourself while doing it didn't cheer me up much either - if you can see me in your mirrors, I can see you. Well done on your 3rd try as you did manage to make contact with my pedal which is why you now have a lovely big scratch mark on your front wing.

Meant to post this on Friday but the same thing happened to me twice within 40 minutes on my ride in :
Approaching a hump backed bridge at about 17 mph : hear car coming behind me from some way off and he's not slowing either : I get horrible sinking feeling in my stomach that he's going to try to overtake me up the hill to the top of the bridge and that there'll be something coming the other way.
All of the above happens and as he crests the top of the hill all I hear is the sound of seriously skidding tyres on tarmac and squealing brakes, I swerve in to get as close to the grass verge as possible as does the car coming towards me and we both wait for the impact. Mercifully he misses us both (me by less than a foot from my back wheel) and accelerates away without a backward glance.
I can clearly remember the look of wide eyed horror on the face of the other driver and we both shrug in despair at each other.
Later on the same ride in I'm passing the garden centre on the A4 closer to Bath and someone overtakes on a blind corner and the by now familiar sound of screaming tyres and sqealing brakes makes another appearance as some poor sod comes the other way round the bend.
Unbeknown to me behind the lunatic driver is a pal from TF driving their van and she said when I popped in later in the afternoon that she really thought I was a goner and the car missed me by inches.

Happens quite often on one stretch of my commute, however, usually the overtaking car gives me plenty of room and then fails to pull in once past despite the oncoming car!
There've been a few I've flinched at.0 -
To the wvm, being overtaken by a cyclist, who then takes up primary upon entering a mini roundabout, is NOT reason to try and take them out 2 miles down the road by cutting them up and forcing them into some railings.
2 points to learn from this: 1) if you're going to try and do a hit and run, then make sure that the cyclist can't catch you within a mile, so that you can avoid being abused in front of people and having your registration captured on camera
2) don't try it in a works van as it has telephone numbers and a helpful web address, which can be used to contact the people you work for!0 -
Fellow (and burd) cyclists. It might help our cause if you all slowed down to let vehicles turn left, especially when they have been indicating for 5 mins beforehand.
In any event, I feel lonely as I appear to be the only cyclist who slows down/stops to let said vehicles complete their manoeuvres. Join me. Drivers really appreciate it, honest!0 -
To the chopper (on a hybrid, with pannier, hi-viz jacket, full length tights and a face mask) who rode through three sets of reds starting with Priory Lane and then, at the fourth, had to swerve onto the pavement to avoid a female ped who started crossing:
