3rd party heart straps which work with Garmin Edge?

Hi there,
Sorry if this subject has been covered before. I tried a search through the forum but couldn't find anything relevant. Anyway, if I would stop wittering, can anyone share their knowledge of what (If any) 3rd party heart rate monitor straps will work with a Garmin Edge 305 unit please?
Unfortunately my (Well out of warranty) heart rate monitor's workings have corroded horribly inside, most likely due to me being unfit and extremely sweaty. Therefore I could do with getting a replacement but, being a tightwad, would like to spend as little as possible. Even if there are no cheaper alternatives to the Garmin replacement strap, can anyone recommend a cheap place to buy a Garmin one? I'll, of course, scour round eBay in the hope of a bargain but wondered if anyone knows of anywhere else too.
