Measuring bar width

When measuring a riser bar, it it done from one end to the other in a straight line, or from one end to the other in a curve taking into account the backsweep of the bars?

Pretty sure its end to end.

I was measuring mine at the weekend and from memory it matched the manufacturers spec end to end, not following the curve. (Easton E30)

Definitley end-to-end when I measured the FSA's on the Marin.
