New Dura Ace compatability

The new Dura Ace looks sexy if not grossly overpriced so I wondered just how much of it might work with the current version. The article in the Comic said that none of it would because of the directional chain, chainring and cassette patterns. There's also the new gear pull ratio. What interests me also is the specific Dura Ace compact chainset that's also coming in 2009 - will that too be only compatible with new Dura Ace stuff. I've only had my new DA stuff a year (and I love it) so won't be buying any more for some time but I might consider the compact chainset - do you reckon I dare seeing if it would work with my 'old' DA 10 speed and more importantly a Wipperman 10spd chain?.
