Chain Lubricating

Afternoon folks - I'm after a bit of advice if I may. I've done a bit of a search but can't find what I'm after.

I've just cleaned my chain for the first time using citrus degreaser and I've not got to lube it.

I've got some Finish Line XC Wet Lube (correct stuf?) what's the best way to apply it? Where do I apply it also (sounds a daft question I know)? How much do I need to use?

Sorry for all the Qs!

Cheers

Jim

in each of the rollers in turn then wipe of the excess. Put enough on each roller to get the job done inside of it but not enough so as you are wiping a lot off later. I would use the finish line dry lube in the summer, (dry), months and the wet in the winter or wet rides.

dosn't matter so much though, the wet just attracts more dust/dry mess and isn't quite as slippery!

I tend to lube after cleaning and before riding.

I tend to put a drop on each roller , then run the chain through a clean rag to get off excess . Finish line wet is great , if a little messy , tends to turn everything a bit black after a couple of rides. there dry lube is good but a bit of a faff to put on . The nossle always seems to block itself up resulting in lots of shaking of the bottle to clear it . A brilliant lube to use in drier conditions i,ve found is 'purple extreme' i,ts a bit expensive at ten quid a bottle ,but it lasts ages is a piece of cake to put on and it doesn't matter if you get caught in a shower or two because it seems to stay on ok. They say it will last up to 400 miles . I'm not so sure on that one but give it a go .

I use Finish line wet stuff. Living in Scotland there is usually some mud around at all times of the year anyway!

In an ideal world I would scrub the chain after every long ride and reapply lube. As said above, best to lube and wipe off excess with a rag.
