Quiet Turbo Trainer

Hi,
I am looking for advice on a buying a turbo.
The person who wants it lives in a flat so wants a quieter trainer.
They are on a budget though, so the cheaper the better?
Anyone got advice? They were looking at the Minoura Mag 500 but I am not familiair with this one's noise level.

Hi there.
Turbo's with a fluid resistance unit tend to be quieter than the magnetic ones. Having said that, a lot of the noise is due to the spokes of your rear wheel cutting through the air.

Andy, noisey spokes? How fast do you ride the turbo??!!
Remember they are supposed to be positioned flat in the plane of the wheel rotation....
