Should have bought Campag!

Running up towards a hill today I tried to change down on the front and go up a couple of cogs on the rear as well. Well you can guess the rest, chain jammed up in the front mech and lots of Anglo Saxon words from the rider. Once extracted the chain ran ok but the front mech was twisted and I was left to do the rest of the ride on the large ring as it wouldn't shift cleanly. There is a slight crease in the cage but I managed to get it working of sorts by twisting it a bit. Now do I carry on fettling it or is it best to admit defeat and buy a new one(good excuse to upgrade ). Do I need to split the chain to fit it?
Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

Bend the cage back, readjust and ride! The FD is not exactly a complicated piece of engineering...0

You don't need to split chain - remove the screw on the cageplate and slide the chain through
But yes - you should've bought CampagCarlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0
