I'm currently running Kenda Karmas on my hardtail and want a little more grip, particularly on off-camber loose stuff. I'd like to keep some ability for fast rolling as I'm more of a fan of fast singletrack than technical stuff so nothing too chunky I guess.

I highly recommend Continental Verticals for any condition apart from claggy, sticky mud.0

I've been seriously seriously impressed with my Conti MK Protection tyres that I've been running for the last 6 months. Really fast rolling, light, really grippy, plenty of cushioning and so far very hard wearing. In comparison they have certainly been out performing Nevegals that my mates bike has.
I could also recommend my previous tyres the Maxxis ADvantage 2.1 (quite large for 2.1s) that I ran with for 6 months. Agressive tread and grippy but they wore quite quickly and I personally found them quite hard and unforgiving.
Panaracer Fire XC Pro are not a bad tyre but not that fast rolling. If I'm honest I could never really complain about the Spesh own brand tyres I had on a Stumpy a couple of years back. 2.1 Resolutions I think??\'Porridge is the weapon of choice\'
