Seals going on forks?

Ok, I want to know how I know when the seals are going on my forks. I'm slowly getting deminishing performance from them over the last few weeks, and have recently been getting an irritating noise from them.

It's not an expensive fork I'm using (Marz MZ Comp 100mm) but I'm trying to save for a car, so I don't want to blow hundreds of pounds on a new fork until I've got more money saved :/ (Plus I'm on a neverending quest to find the max recommended fork length on a Giant Acid frame, alot of people guess but nobody has a clue beyond the standard 100mm)

  • Generally most forks are intended to work for around 100 to 150 hours of riding if well looked after before they require a strip down. This is greatly reduced if the fork has a hard time.

With these forks you have there more just a throw away item though. This is as you can get a equivalent or superior fork for similar money to what it costs to get them serviced. You may be best just riding them in to the ground. Or if you fancy a try you can strip them down your self and clean them all up and lubricate them your self.

The Acid was never issued with a max/min fork length. So this is why most people will just guess. Its not a weak frame though so whatever feels good to ride should be fine as long as your sensible.

Ah, so that's why I have found it damn near impossible to find a max fork length. I'll deffo be getting a pair of pikes (or similar) once they're basically useless then.

    Thanks :)

    what year?

TBH if they are the year i think seal will not matter.

Signs of blown seal. not holding air presure. and oil pissing out of the seals
