I'm a British Clubman. Once the dominant species, but now sadly on the endangered list.0

I'm with Gavin. A traditional British club rider. I tour in the traditional lightweight way. Bikes always have mudguards etc unless actually racing. I have time trialled all distances to 12 hours; road and track raced. I have ridden fixed for 40 years without considering it unusual. I ride off road, on road, 2 wheels or 3, solo or tandem. I am an old style CYCLIST. A dying breed indeed.0

I think I am a .........................
Non conformist!
Week day commuter, weekend rider, tourist with 4 recumbents including a trike 5 folders, sit up and beg, Pashley, mountain bike and others.
I am a cyclist not a tribal member!

He that buys eggs buys many shells,
But he that buys good beer buys nothing else.</b></i>

Fixed I guess (altho' not exclusively so), but I intend living longer than this dumbo
"It's difficult to explain what it's like riding a fixed-gear. To brake I have to push back on the pedals - most people have a front brake but I didn't want to go drilling the holes in my GanWell. There's also a gracefulness to it and you have to look way ahead and anticipate the traffic. I can do a whole journey to work without even putting a foot down. "
What happens when another road user doesn't share his finely honed sense of anticipation? Are there no traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, along his route (track-stands are all well and good, but for minutes on end? Pity help any child or person of limited mobility who gets between him and his "gracefulness". Pass me my breaker bar, I'll show him grace...d.j.
