Bad neck

Well, I was messing around playing a bit of football a while ago, it was against a bunch of other guys.
Anyways, one of them thought he'd run straight into my back, punching/elbowing me. (It was one of them, either way it hurts like hell).
Now I know many people who have a bad/stiff neck, but I think this is a bit different.
It is only painful on the right side of my neck. Now I got hit by him around the middle of my neck/spine, but thinking about it it may have been on the right side.
Now I've been to my doctor who seems to just think I should give it time, but thats not working. (It's been over a year now).
What should I do?

go back and tell him a year wanst enough and dint work. he may refer you to a specialist or whatever.I said hit the brakes not the tree!!

Go to see a sports Phisio. I had a very bad shoulder problem and they managed to get it working again. If that fails see a doctor or specilist.Part of the Left-handed CommunityTM0

Silverknell - how much does the average sports physio charge? (In the UK)
And do they usually drag out the appointments or does it get fixed pretty fast?0
