Upgrading wheels and disc brakes

I've decided what new wheels I would like - Mavic Crossmax slr - I understand I can't use v brakes with these as there is no braking surface on the rim. So looks like I've got to upgrade to discs. So, quite an expense. Can someone confirm exactly what I would need?
* New brake levers
* Front and rear discs - thinking Hope mini?
* cables anything else?

Also is the most common fitting for discs - 6 bolts?

Thanks in advance.......!

    if you dont wont to upgrade to disc's and keep your v brakes try Mavic xc717 ive got a set of these and there both disc / v brake compatible..

    as regards to disc brakes all you need is wot you said in your last thread.
    pity ive just sold a complete set of XT brakes with 180mm rotors and adaptors.
    6 bolt is the norm unless you use shimano in which case there use both centre lock and 6 bolt..

    If you wanted to keep with V-brakes then you get some wheels built with quality disc hubs and rims with a braking surface.

    On the other hand you want to change everything over in one go then the brakes usually come preassembled with hose connected and bleed. You may need to have the hose cut down which if you haven't got the right tools and knowledge might be best to have them fitted by a LBS.

    6 bolt is the most common disc fitting.

    try having a look at Merlin: http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/?fn=category&categoryId=113

    Or you could buy Crossmax SLR wheels (rather than Crossmax SLR Disc wheels) and just keep your existing brakes.
