The Polaris one is cheaper at the moment. Looks sturdy to me but who knows when the baggage handlers get hold of these boxes eh?

As the owner of a SciCon I'd replace it with the 'Alan' should I have to since it's v.similar (the maker used to repair the S-Cons). So I'd say avoid the SciCon. The improved Polaris is more rigid than the previous version, but I think the S-Con copy is still superior.

  • I just got one but i've not used it yet - i'm going to make sure everything fits in it this weekend. its well made and very sturdy- - much more so than the polaris and the wheels are bolted on so they are easy to replace (apparently the Sci-Con's are rivetted so can't be) and it looks the biz.

If you do go for one and you have your name put on it you might want to ask him to omit the union jack and letters GB after it cos it kind of suggests that you represent Great Britain (competitively). i thought this was a bit embarassing since i could barely represent
my street never mind GB  (and of course i'm Portuguese). After consultation with Mrs Portuguese Mike i've peeled them off.
