I have just got a set of Marzocchi All mountain 1's but the manual is shocking !
Just wondered if anyone new a few things about how to set them up or if there are any links to a decent manual.
-Where do you adjust the air pressure as they are quite firm, is it under the top right red cap, if so do i just pull it off ?
-The ETA is it supposed to lock it down to 30mm of travel or does it lower by 30mm (120mm) as mine dont seem to go down that much. Maybe because the pressure is to high ?
-The knob on the right just locks out for road use right ?
-The rebound adjust on the bottom, is ther anyway of setting it to a middle setting, I have turned that many time that i dont know where i am.
If anyone can answer any of these questions it wouls be much appreciated.

The serial number on the crown will either start with a T in which case it is an OE fork made in Taiwan and it is officially an AM1, or it will not start with a T in which case it's an aftermarket fork and it is officially an All Mountain 1. Both have All Mountain 1 decals so don't let that fool you.
If it's an All Mountain 1 fork, it will have a Knob on the bottom of both fork legs. One is your travel adjust (130-150mm) and the other is your rebound. On the top on the LH leg is ETA and on the right TST.
Firstly, to use ETA, turn it on and then bounce the fork down. It should stay down however far you pushed it. ETA is effectively a lock down, it doesn't drop the fork on it's own, it just stops it coming back up.
To set your spring, you need to put a cable tie around one stanction and then push it down against the fork lower. Turn the TST all the way anti-clockwise. Sit on the bike carefull and then get off again. The cable tie will show how far the fork compressed under your weight.
This is called the sag and you want to start with this at about 40mm. If it's more, put some air in, if it's less, let some out. To do this turn the TST all the way clockwise and pull the rubber cover off the hole. Put your shock pump, with the adapter attached into the hole and screw it up and adjust accordingly.
To recheck your sag, you have to remove the pump and turn the TST all the way anticlockwise again before repeating.
Once this is right, you need to dial in your rebound. As a starter, I'd recommend turning it really slow so when you bounce the fork it comes back up slowly, then reduce it until the first click where you can't tell the fork is being slowed down. At this pont the fork is coming back up fast enough to be ready for the next hit but you know you've got rebound damping in there so it is controlled.
Good luck."Internet Forums - an amazing world where outright falsehoods become cyber-facts with a few witty key taps and a carefully placed emoticon."0 -
Hi, Thats great info ! Cheers
Just a bit confused about the first paragraph, whats the difference between the 2 forks. My bike is in the shop at the moment so i cant check the forks.0 -
The OE version doesn't have some of the features of the aftermarket version. I had the aftermarket version and so the above description is based on that but if you have the OE version you may find that some of the features are different. IIRC for example the OE version doesn't have the travel adjust (TAS on the lower LH leg) but I'm not sure what the other differences are."Internet Forums - an amazing world where outright falsehoods become cyber-facts with a few witty key taps and a carefully placed emoticon."0
