What pressure do you run in your tyres and why?

I'm amazed at some of the pressures being used here, I never go more than 100 front/110 rear on clinchers unless I'm racing.
Some of you lot must get properly bounced around every time you go over a rough road surface0 -
I keep my Pro2Race 700x23 at 105 in front, 115 in the back. I weight 150lbs and got no flat in the last 6 000kms. A few of my riding buddies prefer to use lower pressures for comfort but are quite busy fixing flats0

Hmm... from 30psi (2.125 on my mtb)
through 100 back and front on my road bike (23mm on front 25mm on back)
to 160 in my continental sprinters on my track iron (why, cause I like the way it feels!)
and last but not least, a buddy insists on running his tufos at 200psi for championship events, no matter how much we tell him it's not helping!
YMMV!

Even when I weighed over 16 stone I didn't get pinch flats at 95 front/ 105 rear (23c) or about 80 front/ 90 rear (25c), but I ride light i.e. I watch where I'm riding and unweight the saddle over rough stuff. I never bounce up over kerbs or through potholes.
I find that there is a 'sweet spot' between too low a pressure (feels like you have a slow puncture and/or you are riding through mud) and too high a pressure (uncomfortable on rough road surfaces).
Going to the sort of pressures mentioned in this thread would finish off my dodgy fillings and trash my bike on the rough descents round here (West Yorkshire and East Lancashire). I tried going to about 120 psi once and I lost a bottle from my bottle cage, got toothache and my tyres were losing contact with the road on a bumpy descent.
If the roads were smooth, I'd probably put about 10 psi more in.0 -
