Adjusting Avid Juicy Carbons

I've just put a set of Juicy Carbons on my bike and I'm struggling to set them up properly.
The calipers and discs are fitted correctly and there's little to no rubbing of the discs. The levers are fitted correctly as well but even with the bite adjustment wheel set to maximum (closest setting) the bite point doesn't come until about 1/2" to 3/4" from the handlebar grip. (With it on the minimum setting the lever reaches the handlebar before the pads engage).
The system is brand new so shouldn't need bleeding and once the pads enagage it doesn't feel spongy. How can I bring the biting point further forward? Or am I going to need to bleed it?

just use them. the pistons need to settle.
adjust the lever reach so that they comm on sooner and then they will settle faster."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Thanks! Sounds simple, I guess I'll just get out there and use them then!0

Just to add an update in case anyone else the problem in the future, I've done about 50 miles on them now and there was no change in the bite point. They are bedded in nicely and are very powerful but I found out this morning how to adjust them to how I wanted them.
Basically I adjusted the bite point until it was at its furthest point (lever right up against the handlebar with maximum lever travel) and then adjusted the reach nut until the levers were furthest away from the bars. Then I wound up the bite point to its closest setting and then brought the levers back towards the bar until comfortable. Hey presto, spot on!!! I'm now a happy rider!0
