Had an 'of' yesterday and dragged my shin down my studded pedals, hurt abit  , what made it worse i done exactly the same thing about 40 minutes later to the same shin to the same place, double ouch :cry:

So I'm after some knee/shin pads, something not too heavey-weight, not like the hard plastic DH versions, something i can ride with for a longtime.

Any suggestions??

hey there, i know what you mean i did a drop and my foot came off as i landed , my shin was on the pedal and it hurt, so i shouted so loud it echoed along river bank, my bro just laughed and so did i bit later. I couldnt ride for ten mins or so as really crack the bone and cuts luckly didnt break anything. So point being i got some 661 race lite knee shin and there pretty good all in one though, not too heavy and feel protected as i has hard shell good prce too online, im also after the 661 veggies knee and shin as there seperates but not as much protection. Have a look on few web sites CHAIN REACTION CYCLES etc hope helps

Cheers fellas, appreciate the advice. Might get some of those veggie ones, mind those 661 race lite ones look canny cool, almost Stormtrooper-like.

The wors pain, I reckon is when you have a deep hole in your shin from a pedal gash, that's about a week old, and just starting to scab over, then you accidentally get another pedal pin in EXACTLY the same spot whilst wheeling your bike out of the garage!

I used to heal up pretty quick, and a pedal gash would disappear in a few days, but I've had my current marks for at least 3 weeks!

Aye, pedal slap is one of the worst and most frequent injuries like. My shins are covered in little scars from riding bmx before i got a proper bike

I treat them as trophies though, sad but true.
