2007 Kona Caldera vs Marin Hawk Hill Bike (2007)

Hi everyone, I'm the new kid on the block so go easy on me. I have a choice of two bikes. I am a new comer to the sport but not totally stupid when it comes to riding a bike. The choice is between 2007 Kona Caldera vs Marin Hawk Hill Bike (2007). I have done a little offr road riding before but maimly road riding. maybe you can suggets another bike more suitable.

from experience the caldera is a solid bike with a confidence inspiring ride, dont know about the Marin sorry! what type of riding will you be using it for mainly?

I live in London so chances of doing any hectic rides is pretty scarce. I'm not the type to be doing big jumps etc but certainly would do trail riding where I stay.

Both bikes are heavily let down by the fork. There are better bikes for this money.
