Going cold turkey!

I have been a silly silly boy! My fiance' said I spend to much on my bikes.....Naturally, I got defensive and told her I could go a whole month without one bike related purchase. Looking back now, it was a poor choice..... I don't think I can do it.

Its only the 4th of the month and I am already getting headaches and cold sweats.....

What was I thinking  There are so many shiny things to buy!

That'll teach you (could try a buy now pay later deal, would that still count?).
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result

No one can go a whole month. You must have been out of your mind making a statement
like that. You may last a bit longer but you will suffer the tortures of the damned and will
cave in to the allure of bike parts the next time you even catch a glimpse of a bike mag
or catalog. Admitt you are pathetically weak and get on with life as best you can.

i rarely buy anything every month, and work in a cycle shop

just get out and ride your bike every opportunity you have, and then you won't worry about satisfying your consumer urges / problem, you will be too busy riding

Alternatively, have it delivered to next door and sneak it on the bike/into the workshop to satisfy your cravings.

OK, here's how to turn this into a win-win situation...

    1. Admit you're wrong. Give your other half the satisfaction of winning.

    2. Buy shiny new bike parts.

Personally, I used to go months (sometimes years) without buying bike bits - but now I've got more bikes there always seems to be something wrong with one of them.

Now that is devious. You are my hero.

Yeah like me. First I got the missus a Kraken, so she can get involved with riding. Then I decided that I wanted something a bit more powerful and better control over pad contact than my Juicy 3's, so I bought Juicy 7's. Now heres the clever bit. I'll distract her in doors away from the fact that I've got new brakes, by upgrading her cable discs to Juicy 3's. So she thinks I'm being caring and lovely by upgrading her brakes, making her bike safer while also getting the upgrade I want

I'm getting told off for my collection of parts and bikes too ,I'm quietly looking at building up a full suspension bike to add to the collection but I will have to sneak it into the shed a bit at a time
