Going cold turkey!

I have been a silly silly boy! My fiance' said I spend to much on my bikes.....Naturally, I got defensive and told her I could go a whole month without one bike related purchase. Looking back now, it was a poor choice..... I don't think I can do it.
Its only the 4th of the month and I am already getting headaches and cold sweats.....
What was I thinking
There are so many shiny things to buy!

That'll teach you (could try a buy now pay later deal, would that still count?).It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result0 -

No one can go a whole month. You must have been out of your mind making a statement
like that. You may last a bit longer but you will suffer the tortures of the damned and will
cave in to the allure of bike parts the next time you even catch a glimpse of a bike mag
or catalog. Admitt you are pathetically weak and get on with life as best you can.

i rarely buy anything every month, and work in a cycle shop
just get out and ride your bike every opportunity you have, and then you won't worry about satisfying your consumer urges / problem, you will be too busy ridingcheck out my riding - www.robcole.co.uk Banshee Factory Team rider, Da Kine UK Team rider, www.freeborn.co.uk www.eshershore.com0 -
Alternatively, have it delivered to next door and sneak it on the bike/into the workshop to satisfy your cravings."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

OK, here's how to turn this into a win-win situation...
1. Admit you're wrong. Give your other half the satisfaction of winning.
2. Buy shiny new bike parts.
Personally, I used to go months (sometimes years) without buying bike bits - but now I've got more bikes there always seems to be something wrong with one of them.0 -

Now that is devious. You are my hero.

I'm getting told off for my collection of parts and bikes too ,I'm quietly looking at building up a full suspension bike to add to the collection but I will have to sneak it into the shed a bit at a time :roll:0
