Mid Cage Derailleurs
I've bought an 11-32 tooth cassette for the road bike to get an extra climbing gear over my 26 tooth cpg I've got at present.
I know I need to change the derailleur as I've got a tiagra short cage at the minute and the max rear sprocket size is 27t.
I thought a mid cage road mech i.e. one for a triple chainset would do the trick as they are advertised as having a max capacity of 37t however they also say the max rear sprocket is also 27t.
I don't really understand?
Surely I could fit the mid cage road mech in place of the short cage and it would cope with a 32 tooth rear sprocket?
Alternatively I could just fit a deore mtb derailleur as they are the same price but I just liked the Tiagra!

Cheers mate - you've just saved me 20 quid, I was ready to buy a tiagra mid cage. I'll just get a deore.
