Garmin software can't find Garmin device

Just bought a 705 but having problems connecting to the pc. IT will connect OK, and I can see the device through my computer. But the Garmin training centre and mapping software can't find it ! I've email Garmin but it's a 3 day response time and I want to play with my new toy now !!!!!!

Any help appreciated.

    Phone Garmin 0808 238 0000, it's free and they're generally very helpful. Failing that, try changing a few things on the Edge, turn it on or off, reset the timer, that kind of thing. I find that sometimes helps when my 305 doesn't sync first time.

    may sound silly but try a reboot.

    if not windows update as the usb drivers may need updating.
    if your on win xp make sure you have sp2.
