GT Avalanche 1.0 ordered and arriving on the 16th! I cannot wait! This is going to be my first "proper" mountain bike i.e. one with damped fork, 27 speed, hyrdo brakes etc. I'm getting 20% discount too, so will spend the other £100 I have saved up on some clothing, decent summer gloves to start with.

Lucky you.
How much did you waited the bike to arrive?
I've found that my GT Chucker 3.0 Disc (not as good as yours),
it's going to be in the shop at the beginig of june.
I'm 2 weeks without a bike, and I'm  to wait another 4 weeks.0 -
My Orange P7S is finally on the way as well -rang the shop yesterday and it has been dispatched from Orange. Should be with me tomorrow or Friday!
I have been waiting over a month!0 -

It is going to arrive on 16th June, it has not actually arrived yet! Not bad considering I only ordered the bike yesterday and the shop doesn't actually stock this bike (ordering it in was a favour as I work there!)."Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0 -

Hehe, I got a slagging off in the shop... "Not getting the Trek then?"....."The Trek's a better bike"....."That Triple Triangle thing looks awful!" I'm happy with my choice though, and that's all that matters!
What is annoying is that although the GT website clearly displays 3 colour options when the country is set to UK, Hotwheels said that only the boring plain silver/black combo is available and the rest are US only. I had really taken to the silver/red one! It does give me an excuse to buy new stuff though - "I need the red grips because the bike looks so boring otherwise! Yes and the coloured pedal pins, Hope skewers and seat clamp...""Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0 -
nice choice, even if it is xc lol nah looks really good love the triple triangle0

Just as well, your new Identiti has one ;-)0 -
lol good point, maybe i have a sub conscious addiction to triangles.... :?0

The ruckus gets the same sort of all in one merged thing too:0

somehow there is something reassuring about a nice triangle, i think its the fact you can see the extra material, i'm wierd i know lol0

From your vast experience in GTs supersonic, would you say that the original practical application of the triple triangle (channel trail buzz to top tube) actually serves any purpose whatsoever?"Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

Possibly! It is one of those imeasurable things (many manufacturers claim stiffness that, flex that) but the theory does seem sound. Its more of a visual thing though I guess.0

It's for, to stop the spring on the other side from bouncing to infinite. Am I correct :?:
Unless you had a rigid one.0
