Was all set to put a deposit down on a Meta 5.5.2 but then I read this thread about the frames cracking and other problems and got a bit concerned.

I have ridden both and liked both but preferred the Meta. The Meta is £300 more expensive though. Never seen any reports of problems with the Pitch though and I think Specialized have a lifetime warranty on the frames. Hmm.

with the specialised theres been issues with their own brand forks and shocks. though like commencal these have probably been fixed or replaced with no issues by them.

The Pitch uses Fox RP2 rear shock and RS Pike forks so no issues re the spesh own brand stuff. Have you had any probs with your Meta and which model is it? cheers

you are getting confused with the Specialized Enduro SL bikes

the Pitch Comp and Pitch Pro use Rockshox Pike forks and X-Fusion and Fox RP2 rear shocks respectively

I would take the Pitch Pro as the frame is manufactured to a higher quality, its got the proven FSR / horst pivot suspension and if you develop any problems you have a lifetime warranty on the frame and the backing of a big company

Now this is an interesting one as I have a Pitch Comp, all be it slightly upgraded adn my mate has a Meta 5.2.

I had ago on his Meta and just didn't get on with it atall, much like the 5.5XT I rode at a demo day, they just felt kinda weird.

I can highly recommend the Pitch as an all round fantastic bike adn for the money it's nigh on impossible to beat :D

The lifetime warranty on the spesh is swinging things for me at the mo. The Pitch def seems better value as well. The poser in me prefers the Meta as it looks sexier and is less common. :)

    Hmm
