am in need of some new grips i think! after sundays ride mine were no good when i had damp sweaty hands, (current grips are very old- 8-9 years! and were relatively cheap back then! seem soft squishy rubbery type but dont inspire confidence!)
whats best to go for, cheaper foam grips or normal rubber lock on type's??
quite a difference in price but have to say am leaning towards the foam at th emo and not sure if its the right descision!
any help gratefully received!

Odi lock-ons.

Completely personal preference for grips. Racers tend to like foam for light weight, personally I really don't like the feel. Plus I think they absorb sweat on the ride and go all slimy if you're not wearing gloves. I like the look of these grips. There was some pro racer in WMB a while back who swore by them

I personally prefer foam as far lighter. To avoid them slipping, when I fit them, rather than water I use watered down PVA glue. This keeps them firmly in place but allows their later removal if necessary.
I find other rubber type compound grips too grippy for me.
But as already stated its personal preference.

ive got to admit that lock ons have been tempting me of late!! but wasnt too sure about the foam grips soaking up sweat etc and as said, goign a little slimy in the summer??
hmmn, i think it may be some lock ons, just want to make sure the grip off them will be enough! (paranoid about buying them and having no grip and being back at square one!)Timmo.

Odi rogue lockons, they're what i run and never found any better plus ricci sell em.
Those raceface ones are good but wear out faster than rogues provide slightly less grip and you lose the benefit of lock on, i find they transmit less vibration to normal grips.
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... odelID=399The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Good N evil are ace. They're quite fat though, which ideal for someone like me who's hands are like shovels, but not for the dainty fingered among you0

picked up some 'tonsinx' lock on grips of the joys of ebay in the end!
have to say apart from the Stupidly quick delivery they are quite impressive!
first ride witht hem today, all on the road as had to go into town and get my new seat post from the sorting office, they are comfy enough and with sweaty hands(lots of hills with the trailer and daughter in the back!) they still feel good! unlike my old ones!
overall impressed!
link to said grips!
