Time Pedal Choice

I have had Time ATAC pedals on my mountain bike for years and love them. I recently started using them on the road bike when the toe straps fell to bits but after about an hour my feet get a bit numb.
Now if all went well I was considering just buying another pair of ATACs for the road bike to save a bit of dosh.
Are there obvious benefits in going for the 'long' road pedal in particlular no numb feet or would I get away with something like the longer Time Z Control pedal which uses the same ATAC cleats ?
