Need a guide for the clueless on deraillure adjustment

my recent chain slippage was due to poorly adjusted deraillure , guy in LBS sorted it out , but I still havent a notion how to set front nor back deraillures myself.

id appreciate it if you could post a link that makes these jobs so easy a child could do it.
