Hello and Help!

just done a silly thing and signed myself on for a Moutnain bike marathon.
77Km, 2000m elevation and all offroad.
I wanted to get any training tips.
I ride every weekend about 30km each time, sometimes more than once and know that if i start slow I can keep going for extended periods of time (did 50km and wasn't too dead after it).
Any helpful hints and tips?
(btw. start is on 22nd June!)
Not really active

Good to see you are already out riding!

you only have about 3 weeks left, but you can utilize your time.

Nutrition: make sure you are eating plenty of food during your rides. Check out some energy drinks to use during your ride along with gels or bars. Depending on your weight you should shoot for about 350-400 calories per hour of riding. Use these next few weeks to find what works best for you.

Training: Get out and do some longer back to back rides at Steady State Tempo (ride just below your threshold, but little harder than tempo) as much as you can. Taking a jump at riding 77k in the next few weeks is going to be too much, so split that into 2: 40k days on the weekend coming up and next weekend try 2: 50k days.

If you want some fine tune details feel free to email me and I'll be glad to help..
