Nowt wrong with the ones I have, been on & off the bike several times.

either you got a dodgy pair, or you're over tightening them.

2nd pair fella, and i can't be overtightening because they still move on the bars, i just seem to strip the bolts, and it ain't me allen keys coz i used different ones on after i stripped the second sets first bolt, crap. I've stuck me old grips on with hairspray. Suckers.

I have had over 10 pairs of Lizard Skins lock-on grips, and never had an issue with a single pair

we sell 100s of lock-on grips every year, and our customers don't have issues either, ODI's lock-on grips (ODI make the Lizard Skin grips) sell 1000's worldwide and this has never come up as an issue, unless fitted badly

if you use good quality allen keys (for example a Park AWS-10 multi tool), put a small amount of light lubrication oil or chain lube onto the bolts before tightening, and don't over tighten the bolts, you should not have any issues

you are probably overtightening the bolts, if you have stripped them

you don't say if you have stripped the threads in the grip clamps, or have stripped the allen key socket on the bolt heads?

stripping the threads in the clamps is typically from overightening the bolts when dry (i.e. no lube) and stripping the allen key sockets on the bolt heads is done by using a poor quality allen key, one that is worn or by using a ball-socket allen key

Its the bolt heads that have stripped, my allen keys are fine, they don't strip anything else that i use them on and i can't be overtightening because the grips were still loose on the bars.

you need to look at your handlebars then? perhaps the wrong diameter (should be 22.2mm)

because the lock-on grip and metal collers should be a snug fit on your bars, with the screws needing only a slight torque to keep the collers tight

Hmmmm, i'll check them out and measure them.

Should be alright though, standard bars on a Commencal CombiDisc...
