Hiya I have been a mongoose tyax super 2008 owner purchased from wiggle (Feb 2008) the bike was very good to me for the first month but since then problem after problem, until recently one of the callipers decided the leak leaving me 10miles from home to get back on 1 brake  So after many journeys to Halfords ive emailed Wiggle asking them to replace the parts which are faulty. The seal on the calliper is basically worn away!! Anyway.

Can you recommend the best Hard Tail bike for £400 - £450 around there 8)

Hydraulic brakes are a must
I would like remote lockout suspension so i can change quickly when riding.

Does that leave me back at the mongoose tyax super ??

Thanks

Jimbo

Tyax Super, GT Avalanche 2.0 are the ones that have these features (and the same brakes)

The brakes are generally good, with very few reported problems - you have been unlucky. I'd stick with the bike, get it serviced. This is the problem with buying online, the bikes are never fully set up from new, need readjusting after a ride or two hence why shops offer one or two free services.

Giant Terrago and Scott Aspect 45 are both very good bike for about 400quid each
