I've tried the Endura, Specialized and Assos. All were fairly decent but all fell short of the Altura Pro Gel.
Altura Pro Gel:

They have to be the comfiest mitts I have ever owned, the padding is absolutely spot on (for me anyway)0 -
I've got a pair of Cannondale mitts with gel pads in the palms, really comfy. a bit pricey though.0
-
Specilized BG mitts are the comfiest I've used and they last a long time as well even the cheaper end of their range.0
-
Castelli make some mitts with big areas of gel padding. Probikekit.com have a few different ones.0
-
I really like my Pearl Izumi pairroad0

+1 on the Altura mitts -- very comfy but without interfering too much with the 'feel' of the bars.0
-
Assos for me.
Gats0 -
Specialized BG ones stopped my wife losing control of her fingers die to vibration/nerve damage last year.
It was that or a less harsh riding frame - gloves are cheaper.0 -

The equal of Spesh BG ones, which I had previously and fell apart after a year, and less than half the price. Bargain.
Edit: oops just noticed they were obviously too much of a bargain and had sold out.0 -
Im on the search for some new mitts, but i need XXL sizing.
Tried the Specialized BG Pro mitts and they seem ok.
Tend to do a lot of riding with my hands on the hoods, so need padding round my thumb.
Other sore point is the saddle, but thats a different thread 8)
