Interrupted Sleep

Another area of concern - I have not had a full nights sleep for a couple of years now. Every night I waken around 4am to the call of nature. This is having a cumulative detrimental effect on my training, cycling, TTs etc

Any advice as to how this might be cured?

The first obvious thing that comes my mind is to drink less before you go to bed.

Might be a bit too obvious though, you may have a medical condition, I'd seek doctors advice first.

This started to happen to me recently... (I'm only 25... so it shouldnt really be an issue  ) now I try not to drink anything after 8:30-9pm and try to empty the tank before I goto bed. Everything is ok. Only thing that wakes me up now is the road sweeper at 5am... town center living sucks :x

Here, not wanting to alarm anyone, but go to the doctors, it could be anything, prostate problems, the lot, get it checked out kidda.

I never have to get up for that reason and I'm an old git (41). If you're not drinking excessively before bed, then I would get it checked...just to be on the safe side.

yes I agree it would be sensible to get your prostate checked periodically anyway but I'm inclined to think it could be either noise disturbing your sleep or possibly stress.
If you go to bed worrying about stuff it could stop you getting into a deep sleep.

Also could check your body's alkaline /acid balance Are you keeping hydrated and are you eating anything that could cause you to be flushing lots of stuff out of your body like booze or spicy foods etc.

I have always suffered with disturbed sleep periodically but lately I have been sleeping so deeply I go to bed at 12pm and don't wake again till 7am
 worth looking into reducing noise levels by keeping bedroom window closed and opening another in an adjacent room perhaps or sleeping in another room or make your bed more comfortable. Move your bed position stuff like that
