What's gone wrong with my gears?
When i change i am finding that i get a 'clicking' sound until i flick the gear lever again and sometimes when i change from the large chain ring to the small one the chain comes off!
I am guessing it's something to do with the cable?? Don't want to play around with it and make it worse though.

Sounds like the indexing is out, and your limit screws on your front mech are out. Try this and this for setting your indexing and limit screws.
  • Front or rear mech thats giving the problem?

If its a 10 spd rear then they are very sensitive to index adjustment, rotate the barrel adjuster at the end of the cable by no more than 1/4 turns at a time to bring the mech back in line. If the chain is still jumping, chances are the mech hanger is bent which puts the derailleur out of alignment, and no amount of index adjustment is going to fix it.

If its a problem with the front mech then as Tony suggests your limit screws need adjusting as well as the indexing adjustment.
