Folding Bikes

Hi All,
Looks like I might have to move jobs in the near future, and I will probably end up working in London again.
As I don't want to give up on all the exercise I now get from my existing rides to work, I've started to look at getting some sort of folder like the Brompton's, Dahon Curve etc. My route would entail a 6 mile round trip down to the local train station, and then whatever I'd need to do in London to get to where the new contract would be.
It's the trip to and from the local train station that might cause some problems as the routes would include some fairly steep hills and I'm not sure how these smaller bikes gearing would cope. Do any of you have any advice on what sort of bike/gearing to start looking at, or in fact any advice on taking bikes on trains into London from the south east?
Thanks

I have a Brompton T6 (now would I think be an MR6 with their new product system) and this copes well will most hills even when carrying my son on his itChair.
Every day I do the hill up from Barnes station to Roehampton University which keeps me fit and the bike is no problem.
Bromptons are fab machines that you can get into amazing places.

I had need of a folding bike last year and got one of these:

Certainly will get up hills but is a little flexy so I find I take care about how much force I put through it - I certainly wouldn't honk hard like I do on my tourer. Having said that it has performed faultlessly for a year and done exactly what I wanted it to do, so I have no complaints and would give it my personal recommendation.

A lot less money than a Brompton, a lot less flexy than a Kalkhoff, and half the price. The black is sold out, but plenty of white ande awesome orange left
