10 speed on my old 8 speed wheels
Hi guys,
One of the chaps at my club is offering some 10 speed 105 stuff resonably priced, and having 8 speed sora i am tempted.
Someone did mention though that old 8 speed freehubs, wont accept 10 or even nine speed cassettes (even with a spacer), can anyone give me some info on this, as checked on sheldon brown for example and that refrences 7,9 and 10 speed, but not 8 unless im being blind.
If its new wheels as well which arn't much at my level just want to know about it before hand
I have read that for 10 speed you just need to add a spacer, and also that older 8 speed hubs might not accept an 11T first cog unless you do some modification?
thanks a lot in advance
Will

Following on from this, is it possible to put a 10 speed Shimano cassette on to a 9spd Tiagra hub?
