Group up the road with 5 minutes and 100km left to go, containing none other than everyones favourite PTP pick for todays stage, Paolo Bettini. Plus Bennati, Visconti and Jens Voight. Now thats a quality break.

Time for Visconti to pay Il Grillo back for all the help last week.

Gabriele Bosisio (LPR Brakes), Rinaldo Nocentini (AG2R La Mondiale), Félix Rafael Cardenas Ravalo (Barloworld), Joaquin Rodriguez (Caisse d'Epargne), Alan Perez Lezaun (Euskaltel - Euskadi), Simon Spilak (Lampre), Daniele Bennati (Liquigas), Paolo Bettini (Quick Step), Giovanni Visconti (Quick Step), Mauricio Alberto Ardila Cano (Rabobank), Jens Voigt (Team CSC) and Nikolay Trusov (Tinkoff Credit Systems)

This break will stick. Astana has no interest in hauling it back.
It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.

It's a long way though on a lumpy course. What's the wind up to?

Wind isn't up to much but its drizzling. I believe there is some fairly bad thunder storms and torrential rain forecast for the next couple of days in the North of Italy.

Can anyone hear a word Kelly and Harmon are saying? Turned my telly right up and preparing to have my ears blasted off when the adverts come on.

Btw I was watching 3 cushion billiards the other day... very interesting!

Speaking of Monster Truck racing, Jen Voigt has buggered off up the road and the remainder of the break has fallen apart.

Not over yet - another 16km to go. Voigt 40 seconds up on the chasers.

What size gear is Voigt mashing - 120rpm twiddling be damned!. It looks like his block is 11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-11-12 (for the climbs)

16 km for 40 seconds - but Italians chasing. He'll stay away.

It'll be nice to see somebody wearing short white socks win.

Cav was actually wearing white socks yesterday - must be why he didn't win.

1 Jens Voigt (Ger) Team CSC
2 Giovanni Visconti (Ita) Quick Step 1.00
3 Rinaldo Nocentini (Ita) AG2R La Mondiale
4 Gabriele Bosisio (Ita) LPR Brakes

He can't amke his mind up if he's finishing or not can he. True pro mind, and Bettini must be kicking himself for letting him go.

I guess so, he doesn't have much of a palmares or reputation, so he needs all the wins he can get!!!
