my oh my, are we STILL feeling sorry for glory hunter john terry? the motd team tonight seemed to bang on about "how he needed the game", "how he suffered last week". will they say the same about anelka? no. who really cares, chelsea lost. man united won (with more english players). an english team won the champions league, which is the most important thing. jt comes not even second, the country's reputation is much more important, especially when we're not even good enough to qualify for euro 2008.

I guy I work with was in the Embassy bar/club in Mayfair the Saturday night / Sunday morning before the Chelsea - Spurs cup final that Chelsea lost a few months ago. At 1:30 am he saw Lampard and Terry walking into the VIP room with another player. As a Chelsea fan he was unsurprisingly rather p'd off. These footballers come out with all sorts of rubbish, but in most cases I find it hard to respect them as actual atheletes.

    Dear Mr Capello,
Cataincy of the national side ought to be decided on ability and not sympathy however as you gave John Terry the sympathy vote, please, spare a thought for me. In the 1959/60 season, I was the left half in the Prescot C of E Primary School football team. It was my last year before I went to Prescot Grammar School and it was our last match. Mr Hitchmough replaced me and it was not very nice of him to drop me for the game against Bleak Hill. I have a 100% penalty record - Taken 0, Scored 0 - which is far better than John Terry's!
I am fast approaching 60 and I may not be able to do the whole 90 minutes - I think about 87 will be my limit! Can you include me in the starting line-up for the match against Trinidad and Tobago in the midfield and make me very, very happy.
    Regards
    Mr Hippo

The same John Terry who thinks nothing of parking his Bentley in a disabled bay while going for lunch.
