Hope 180mm disc rotors on Tektro Auriga Comp calipers.

Can anyone tell me if im able to fit hope rotors to my Tektro Auriga Comp calipers? Ive got some adapters on order and am going from 160mm to 180mm.

Getting mixed advice on this, been told off Lbs that i would have to fit Tektro rotors???

I thought i would be able to fit any rotor as long as i got the right adapters...Thought they would be the same thickness etc.

Having to order the adapters from America ( Tektro Auriga ) cant seem to get hold of the right ones, any one else have any luck going bigger on these brakes?

They will not necessarily be the same thickness.

Do you know if you have to use Hope rotors with Hope brakes?

why? they are post mount. and post mount adaptor will work.

and which hope brakes? and why they will give no better performance than any other disc of the same size.

Since you asked so nicely I've been out to the garage and placed the caliper over a Hope 183 floating disc and no problems. Your current rear 160 adapter is also a front 180 adapter.

Just got really really confused with this whole adapter lark! So just googled my caliper and got the same ones that are already fitted but bigger. A bit stupid of me now looking back!!

Just like the Hope floating disc.

The mount you currently have on the rear is either designed for a 180 front or 160 rear. The front mount is either a 160 front or 140 rear. The sizes are etched on the mounts.

So if i swap the rear to the front i can put a 180 rotor on...then order a new rear one?

Sorry to be a pain..but can you link me to the adapter or adapters i need?

any IS (frame/fork) to post (caliper) adaptor. have a look on CRC.

If you only want the bling factor then just get the discs in 160mm or a little more power just get a plus 20mm and a 180 disc for the front and keep a 160 on the rear. Since your in Lancashire get your self down to Merlins
