This month's mbr features a route through Glen Ample near Callander. Has anyone on here tried it?
I have pain!

This is in last month's mag. And the third time it's appeared! I've done it. The first quarter has you climbing on forest track then on boulder paths submerged in water. Hard-going in and around streams before you start the second quarter which is a descent towards Loch Earn. The OS map shows 20 fording places on the route. The momentum will take you down the hillside but hang on grimly to your bars because the ground is strewn with rocks. The remaining half is easy, pleasant road and path cycling to the car park. The views are good and there's penty history attached to Balquihidder (Google it). The route finishes on a Sustrans trail running alongside picturesque Loch Lubnaig. At 19 miles long, it's a half day's breeze of an MTB run. Plus there's a tourist food stop at the roadside (A84) after tumbling down the glen.
