How bloody windy is it today!?

Got up looked out of the window and saw the trees being nearly bent double with the wind!

Decided I would give a ride a go, but as soon as I hit the main roads the cross winds were quite literally blowing me into the ditches that line the roads around here!

I had a clipless moment, where I couldn't clip out quick enough and ended up in one of the ditches!!

The car that was following behind went straight on!!
Not that I needed them, but it would have been nice if they had checked to see if I was ok!

Bike was ok, but I was covered in the muddy water that had drained from the fields.

Not a nice feeling riding back home, fighting the hurricane strength wind with a bum pad full of ditch water!

Ah well, best go clean the bike down, it looks like I have been riding it for hours and hours through muddy fields - not just 20 minutes up the road!

Yes, very windy here too in sunny Catterick, North Yorkshire. You where brave even attempting to go out in this wind.
BTW, just looked at your bike pic, it's a great looking machine.

Hope you have no lasting effects from the fall and hopefully this wind will die down soon.

Not too bad ion N wales - was horrible yesterday mind

Went for a ride up conwy mountain and then down to the beach to meet up with the girlies - played on the beach for an hour and then totally seized up cycling the 8km home into a driving wind and rain

    Thanks CyclingGirl.

I don't think it was bravery I think it was stupidity!

Apparently the severe wind is due to die down sometime around Wednesday/Thursday, according to weather girl on TV.

You're having a laugh, it was awful today around Ruthin, I spent a lot more time in the 34 ring than I normally would.

The winds been grinding me down recently. Doing 18-19mph on the drops on road where anything up to about 27 is possible is depressing.
