Road Biking Vienna

Hi, I am going to Vienna to catch a couple of games in the european championships. I also want to try and get a days cycling in the mountains whilst there on my road bike as I'm doing the etape a couple of weeks later. Apologies for the vagueness in this place but can anyone suggest a loose itinery for leaving early in morning, doing a days cycling in some mountains and then getting back to Vienna for evening. I have no idea how near mountains are or whether this is realistic just for a day trip. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
