Creaking carbon

I have a Specialized Roubaix Expert, and very nice it is too. No complaints.
Except...I have a creaking sound, which as far as I can tell comes from the carbon seat post. If I take it out, wipe it with a dry duster, and wipe the inside of the seat tube - no creaking. However after riding for a few hours it makes an irritating creaking sound, which goes away on wiping as above.
The sound only appears when pedalling while sat in the saddle. It does not creak if I am sat (unless I move about) but not pedalling, and it does not creak if I stand and pedal.
Any ideas?
Is this because the seat clamp is too tight/loose? Specialized seem quite determined in setting torque levels all over.
Help, please, before the noise sends me mad.

There's no such thing as too old.
