If Ricco hadn't fallen in the first TT, he'd be in the MR by now. He took his responsibility today and attacked as he said he would. I hope his form continues and he gives Contador a real battle.

Besides, didn't you hear Yates let slip that they'd known they would be at the Giro a month beforehand - hardly lack of preparation, wouldn't you say?

But there are not many mountains left so I imagine Contador will attack because he wants a stage win - there's nothing worse than winning a GT without winning a stage, and nobody here will be gifting him stages as Rasmussen did at the Tour. I hope he does - a GT winner should do so with elan, not by following the wheels.

I don't know why you guys find this boring? i think it's super exciting. Both to watch Sella's breakaway win for the second time and to see so many GC's this close in a race heading into the mountain TT. And if you wanted today to be more "exciting" with more attacks, would you have taken a boring first 10 days instead of the incredible out-of-no-where attacks by DiLuca and Ricco? That's usually how Grand Tours are (especially the Vuelta) -- nothing for 10 days before heating up. Whereas the Giro's been bringing it steadily since the beginning. I like it!

Yep same here i am not finidng this boring at all in fact its quite exciting most riders except maybe Ricco are to quote Sean Kelly on the rivet as they say in cycling terms . Think back to the alpe d Huez TT in 2004 now that was boring the race was wrapped up well in advance . Here we have most GC contenders within striking distance going into todays mountain TT ............really what do you guys want someone 10 minutes ahead or what ?

    cheers

Agreed, last two days have been somewhat of a letdown. Very negative riding. Good for riders like Di Luca, boring for the viewers.

BTW iain, CSF are much more ridiculous than LPR. Thought they were gonna get a 1-2-3-4 at one point in today's stage.

Maybe its just me but i enjoy watching any mountain stage they are all different in their own ways and all have something to attract the viewer , i have never found them boring at all now Basketball,Cricket,Rugby,Golf bore me to death but a mountain stage in a GT never in million years is it boring. You guys are hard to please ill tell ye...........

    cheers

Well, it's all relative innit. I said the past two days were a letdown... but they're still Giro mountain stages, which are miles better than all other sporting events.

For me, I would have just preferred if someone had taken the race by the scruff of the neck and put in a proper attack. Instead we had the LPR drones riding tempo until 3km to go and even then there were no big moves. Even Gibo didn't attack, which must be unprecedented. So credit to Ricco. At least he tried.
