I've just taken delivery of my planet X Dura Ace SL carbon.

Having not owned a carbon fibre bike before has anyone got any care tips or advice?
thanks

    ride it regularly.

There is so much bollocks written about carbon frames that some people now regard them as precious and fragile. It is simply a bike - a light one, enjoy it and don't forget to look down your nose at all the steel bikes you come across.

A bit of car wax polish keeps it nice and shiny and helps stopping the muck from sticking. Avoid heavy duty cleaners like Muc Off unless you like a flat, matt finish.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

I agree with the above - people are too precious about carbon bikes. Having said that, cable rub which simply takes the paint off metal frames can eat into the top gelcoat on a carbon frame, so I'd recommend cable rub patches (using helicopter tape, or whatever else the current flavour of the month is) on anywhere cables are likely to rub.

Pledge furniture polish, works a treat....I suppose somebody somewhere will say the opposite, but it as worked for me the last 18 months. :)
I also purchased some carbon cable rub patches to protect the frame (Edinburgh bke co op) these blend in just fine with the frame colour :)

After I clean my bike with car shampoo I rinse it off & dry it.

I then squirt the brakes, mechs, cable adjusters & pedals with GT85 as this was recommended by the bike shop; is this GT85 stuff OK?

    Any other tips?
