Turbo trainer - slipping

Hi
I'm new to cycling. I've bought myself a new Tranz X turbo trainer, to get some basic fitness in there, before I hit the road.
I've got it setup, but it seems to be slipping on the trainer when I put in some hard pushing.
Do I need to make the roller tighter to my tyre?
I would have thought there would be a rubber on rubber contact, but the roller is actually steel on the trainer.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Yep, more pressure is needed.
The increased friction will grip more, however, it will create more heat and wear your tire down quicker.
You can get turbo specefic tires, though you can't use these on the road.0
