Just got myself a Scott Ransom 40 for 1/3 of its selling price thanks to an evans cycles and I'm still confused about its over complicated rear shock system . How does it compare against single chamber shocks like the rp23 or the piggyback dhx 5 airs and how different it is from them?

very different. have a read of the manual.
what do you actually want to know?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Many shocks have different features, not always easy to make direct comparisons between systems.
If you don't have the manual, this I think is the one you need:

not posible to compare as scotts shok has very different features.
so again why are you asking... are you thinking of changing shocks? Or do you just need info to get the shock set up correctly."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

its because according to my weight, evans told me to set it up at 450 psi which is not on the list . Is this possible for this shock?Specialized Camber

my friend has a ransom and the manual says the positive and negative chambers should be the same , i thought the point of having the two chambers meant it was more adjustable for small bump sensitivity ,but setting both the same as the manual says seems to defeat the benefit of the two chambers :?:
