Just wondering if its OK to hang a bike on a hook via the front wheel. I've seen it in the bike shops but these tend to be cheaper recreational bikes rather than full blown full sussers? I have also cheapie hardtail and there is scope the girlfriend could want a bike soon and this way would give me loads of space in the garage.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been hanging my £1000 Specialized, my mates £800 GT, my £300 Langster.

Never had an issue. I got the idea from the guys at Cycle Surgery.

I don't think they would give me bad advice.....

I've never hang my bike on a hook because I have a lot
of free space at the basement.

I tend to hang mine from the saddle; the seat post is quite high and far back (it's a Kona) so it balances perfectly!

If you have hydro brakes put elastic bands tight around the levers it will stop any leaking and draw out any air that may be still in the hose's
