Major Dilema - New Frame or Bike Time

Right,

My Kona Hoss has served me well since I bought it in the end of season sale from my lbs, as at the time I wasn't sure if i'd take to biking again (rode loads as a teen).

At 10st 12lb and one of the quicker riders in my club people ask me why I ride a heavy man's bike (answer see above). So now i'm beggining to strain under the temptation to get a proper bike and really show my potential.

However my Kona has been upgraded (see sig) and I would like to keep as many bits as possible bar the forks which are still heavy.

So do I -

a) Just go out and buy a Scott Scale 30, swap over some of the weaker bits on that for my better specc'd bits? (keeping the Kona as a winter / trainer bike)

b) Buy a Scott Scale frame and strip the Kona and gradually upgrade the forks etc?

c) Go for something like a Maxlight or Malt 4 and save the money?

d) Keep riding the Kona and just take pleasure in the fact that I could go quicker if I wanted to but i'm happy being smug  ?

I'm sure this is quite a common dilema, I told myself a long time ago I wouldn't upgrade, but it's just too damn addictive!

You've got most of the components to make a very good, light, fast XC bike. If you've got the cash to splash then go for it. Personally I'd go for the Malt4 or Maxlight frames and stick a set of Rebas on there or something.

I'm sure you can recoup some of the money by selling the Hoss frame and fork together.
