What do you think of the Trek 6500 Disc 2008 Mountain Bike?

Was considering the Kona Blast deluxe or the Giant XTC 4.5 but seen the above bike with £100 off.

Perfectly good bike for the cash. Well specced with decent fork and brakes.

great bike to start with and a good frame ripe for upgrading. We sell a lot of these at our shop. Nothing screams for an upgrade straight away, however, do try and get the shop to swap the stem for something shorter, and maybe new tyres.

Picked up one for my wife.

Decent all round bike, stem and seat were swapped.

How do you think it compares to the Specialized Rockhopper disc 2008 ? They seem similar spec wise ? but i'm no expert 8)

Specialized frames looks so good !

I know i will need to try both, but do you think the Trek 6500 disc is better value considering the £100 reduction from rrp ?

Both are excellent bikes with superb frames. Also both comapnies have taken time to fit a decent spec with parts that are solid - rather than an after thought as you often seem to find with some brands.

So whatever feels best really! I have seen Hoppers reduced too.

I have the 2007 model and like it lots.

Have heard lots of people say it's a great frame. The rest can be upgraded as/when it breaks or you have the money.
