I've mentioned my little project to restore my friend Jackie's bike a couple of times. In case anyone's interested, here's a piccie of the (nearly) finished article:

It was a proper rustbucket before. The frame was half paint, half rust, spokes were seized in nipples, every chrome fastner had rusted, it was a mess. Jackie wanted it to be repaired, htough, because she couldn't find anything anywhere near as comfy, and i susepct che had become a little bit attached to it over the years.

Following a strip-down, it went off to Argos for a bit of brazing and a shot blast and respray. It's had a new drivetrain and I've rebuilt the wheels with new stainless spokes. New fastners, cables, saddle, m%dgu*rds, tyres and a few bits and pieces have finished it off. It's been a bit more of a challenge than building up a new bike, but very therapeutic!

This is a before and after shot of the wheels during rebuilding:

Bike looks great, your friend must be pretty pleased.
PS, looks like there is a tool missing from the pegboard, you should be more tidy and put things back :wink:
